As we write this, it’s 5:30 pm in LA – most of us are in panic mode about what’s for dinner (didn’t plan it. Still have no idea. There’s no shame in re-heating cheesy noodles from last night). If we were on top of our game today, we managed to vote in the LA election. I’m sure many of us aren’t even thinking about tomorrow beyond the logistics of the day to day. But take a minute and go there – because saying “the future is female” has never been more apt.
Tomorrow is International Women’s Day. It’s about us. About our moms, sisters, friends, co-founders, the women of the world we don’t even know.
Avoid shopping for one day (with exceptions for small, women- and minority-owned businesses).
Wear RED in solidarity with A Day Without A Woman.
So, in support of us, in this year of activism, take a moment tomorrow to reach out to the women of your world and thank them, support them, invest in them, send them love…and make sure you take the time to do that for yourself, too. You are, after all, the future.
